Take the bus for "Tsukuba Center/Tsuchiura" from any terminal bus stop. Get off at "Tsukuba Center" and walk 10 minutes.

*Purchase tickets at the Keisei Bus ticket counter or vending machines in the arrival lobby.

◆ Highway Bus (From Tokyo Station)

Take the "Tsukuba Center" bus from Tokyo Station Yaesu South Exit. Get off at "Tsukuba Center" and walk 10 minutes.

◆ By Car (Joban Expressway)

Exit at Sakura-Tsuchiura IC, head toward Tsukuba. Turn right at the "Sasagi" intersection. Go north on Higashi-Odori for 3km. Turn left at "Gakuen-Higashi". Turn left at "Ooshimizu Koen-mae".

Hosting of the 45th World Footbag Championships.

The momentous 45th World Footbag Championships will be held from August 10th to 15th, 2026. This exciting festival of sports will take place in Tsukuba, Japan, marking a historic first-ever occurrence in Asia. Top athletes gathering from all over the world will showcase their extraordinary techniques and sweep Tsukuba into a whirlwind of excitement.

WHAT IS FOOTBAG?

Footbag is a general term for sports in which a bag (ball) about 5 cm in diameter, similar to a Japanese beanbag (otedama), is kicked primarily with the feet without using hands or arms.

There are various disciplines, such as 'Footbag Net,' where players kick the bag back and forth over a net, and 'Footbag Freestyle,' where athletes compete with spectacular footwork.
